| 旧帝国海軍・戦艦榛名の銅製記念品 | Copper Model of Battleship Haruna of Japanese Imperial Navy |
| 下の写真は、筆者の母方の祖父である帝国海軍のエンジニアであった石坂定次からの形見分けとして母経由で入手したものである。戦前から伝わるものであり、祖父が趣味で集めたものではない。榛名以外にも数隻の軍艦の模型があったと記憶する。全てはいとこ達に渡っている。 戦艦榛名の竣工を祝って関係者に配布されたものであるとのことである。 祖父は明治13年(1880)生まれで、日露戦争に応召し、そのまま海軍の技術者として定年まで横須賀浦賀ドックで勤続し、その後は相当の年齢になるまで新潟鐵工(株)にてエンジンの専門家として働いていた。 筆者が小学生の時、76歳でこの世を去ったため仕事の詳しいことは聞くことはできなかったが、叔父や伯母さらには年長のいとこ達からいろいろと話は聞いていた。 wikipediaによると1915年竣工とあり、祖父が35歳のときであるから時代はあっている。 wikipediaの写真では、煙突が二本あるように見えるが、このモデルでは一本しかない。マストや主砲の配置、偵察機の搭載位置などは似通っている。 はたしてこのモデルは榛名なのであろうか。 ご存知の方がいらっしゃったら下記にご連絡いただきたい。 |
Photos shown below are one of copper models of battleship of Imperial Navy of Japan in early 20th century which was distributed to my family from my grand father, Cap. Sadaji Ishizaka. who passed away in 1956. He was recruited during Japan-Russian War and then he completed his service in the Navy until retirement. He was an military engineer of war ships, especially engines. He was engaged in ship building projects of many battle ships and submarines during Worls War II. Wikipedia illustrates that the Haruna started in service in 1915 when my grand father was 35 years old. According to my mother, Sadaji's third child, the Imperial Navy presented to officers in charge of building war ships. In 1945, he scratched off stamps below the ship and then no name could be detected since now. Photos on website (wikipedia) show a photo of the Haruna which is different from this modes, such as two (2) chimmies on the photo against a single chimny on the model. However, the remaining parts are resemble each other. Please inform me about the Haruna and this model as the address below. |
